Mar 27, 2023

After Bangalore's JP inaugurated an underwater tunnel aquarium recently, Hyderabad follows suit. The city is all set to get India's largest tunnel aquarium with a 7D theatre, koi feedings and much more enthralling amenities. The City Of Nizams is all set to give its residents an underwater expedition. Here's all about the upcoming aquarium.

According to a report by Telangana Today, Hyderabad will build Aqua Marine Park. This is an ambitious tunnel aquarium project, touted to be the biggest India has ever seen. Built over 2,50,000 sq. ft at a cost of ₹300 crores, this tunnel aquarium will come up in the Kothwalguda Eco Park. At the upcoming Aqua Marine Park, visitors can expect to walk through a 100-metre curved tunnel with a 3.5-metre walkway and a 180-degree view.

An official from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department revealed to Telangana Today that they’re exploring options to set up multiple tunnels. India's largest tunnel aquarium is touted to have 50 separate exhibits or viewing screens. Also, overall acrylic viewing panels to catch glimpses of fish will be around 1000 square metres. The proposal also states that Aqua Marine Park will replace 10 per cent of the species with new ones every year.

Kids and adults will have a gala time witnessing 300 species of freshwater, marine and brackish water species. Also, over 1000 fish, reptiles, marine, land-based, domestic, imported and ornamental fish will be seen in the waters.
